I've been thinking on starting to work on my girls' character costumes seriously recently. I can't be relying on buying stuff to complete the character, making it with your own hands is half the fun isn't it? Plus I don't really have the time to keep on searching until we find the right type of wig, outfit, etc.. |
If before, this made me weary of handling dolls, now I just try to work around it for my sanity (lol doll therapy). I would make sure nothing below me that can hurt the girls if I happen to drop them, be careful not to be too at the edge of sofa, bed, etc. And when I want to move them I have to remember standing up without holding any. Several times I would stand up just to crash down. I had a severe bruise that took awhile to heal because when I fell a sharp metal corner of a box got into my thigh. So anyway it would suck if I crash with a girl in my arms (lol).
Ruru is actually Subaru Konoe, I thought I would do the unveiling when I at least got her eyes and wig right. I have narrowed down the eyes, the wig is the one hard to spot, maybe the color or the style, so I decide to try a hand at sewing one my own! Lol I did a lot of research, and found one tutorial that looks pretty easy to understand: Wefting Tutorial I sort of know how to make some strands to stand out and shape like Volks wigs. But I still need to experiement. |
I found a lot of interesting wig and doll wig videos and article, but I really love the making Rococo wig on Enchanted Doll. Well, I hope I get to make it soon! |
